Transitional Policy for DC Employer Groups
The D.C. Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking (DISB) has issued a new insurance bulletin: "Small Employer" Transitional Policy for the 2016 Plan Year

Effective January 1, 2016, the definition of "small employer" will change to 1 to 100 employees. The DISB transitional policy will allow DC employers with 51-100 full time equivalent employees (FTEs) to:

1) renew their health coverage with their current carrier OR

2) purchase new large group coverage by December 31, 2015 and renew that coverage by October 1, 2016.

NOTE: The decision to renew policies under the DISB transitional policy is at the discretion of each carrier. Please stay tuned for carrier-specific updates.
