I remember how proud I was of the first kitchen towel I wove!

I lovingly sent it to my mother for her Mother's Day gift, imagining how many dishes she would have dried by the time I was to return home for the holidays.

Imagine my disappointment when I walked into the kitchen and didn't see my handwoven towel. "Oh, I put it away in the drawer." my mother replied, "I didn't want to mess it up."

"No Ma, you have to USE it! I want to see how Cotton Clouds' yarns hold up. This is an experiment!"

When I returned that summer, I could tell that this well-worn, but still in great shape kitchen towel had caressed many a dish, just as my mother was now caressing it. Mission accomplished!

Our 8/2 unmercerized cotton, Aurora Earth yarn is the #1 choice for most of our towel kits, but we also use Cottolin, Foxfibre, Bambu 12, 5/2 Perle, Linen and Cotton Flake. Once off the loom, all they need is a good laundering to remove sizing and they fluff up beautifully.
