I love to weave! I love to weave towels most of all!
I can warp my loom for a set of 8 towels and take a few minutes between my very busy life at Cotton Clouds and home to weave at least one towel at a sitting!
Once I get a good rhythm going, I can weave a towel in about an hour or so.
It's not always easy to FIND the time to weave, but I love that feeling of accomplishment and watching warp and weft inter-mingle to become cloth. So I MAKE the time.
Sometimes it takes all my personal will to set these goals and carry them out: winding the warp, sleying heddles and reed, getting the tension just right, winding bobbins and finally sitting at the loom to weave.
There is just that sense of getting things done that makes me feel so good. I think what really keeps me going is the anticipated expression of gratitude on the other end of the receiving hand when I gift my handwoven towels. To someone who doesn't weave, or even if they do, it is that "WOW" moment that I TOOK the time to make this for them!
