When I first learned to weave 40 years ago, I found an interesting woven doll in a thrift store. I could see that it was made from handwoven fabric but I couldn't figure out what kind of loom was used.

My dollie sat on the shelf for 20 years until I discovered the pin loom, then called the Weavette. So I made her a twin!
I loved weaving on my pin loom! I made hundreds of 4" x 4" squares --it does become addictive!--that I turned into throws, pillows, scarves and shawls.
I loved how easy it was to warp using a nifty technique; how it fit into the palm of my hand; how ultra-lightweight and portable it was and how quickly and easily I could make a square using all types of sport and worsted weight yarns.
There were a few glitches here and there, like forgetting how to warp the loom (I wished there were arrow guides on the loom); how difficult it was to hold (I wished there were a hand-hold lip around the loom) and how there weren't very many creative patterns for converting my squares into finished pieces.
And then Schacht came up with the
ZOOM Loom! It is brilliant!
The ZOOM Loom addressed the items on my wish list. It has been designed as an affordable pin loom with helpful guides printed on the front and back of the loom; is easy to hold and Schacht has just begun to design outrageously creative patterns for scarves, hats, placemats, iPad cases, pin cushions, bow ties and lots more to come! As a matter of fact they have a team of designers coming up with creative designs that will be featured online every month! Visit our
