2015 Community Awards
The 8th Annual Community Awards will take place on April 16th at the Lido Theatre from 7:30pm - 10:00pm. Doors open at 6:30pm.
The purpose of the Community Awards Program is to publicly recognize and honor individuals whose contributions have been of significant benefit to Fort St John. The awards celebrate the talents, dedication and generosity of our outstanding citizens, businesses, athletes, and volunteers whose unique gifts have contributed so greatly to life in Fort St John.

Tickets
Tickets for the Community Awards will be on sale March 2nd at City Hall, the Fort St. John Visitor Centre, and the Lido Theatre. Tickets for youth ages 19 and under and seniors ages 65 and up is $20, adults $30.
Live music by Dayna Manning! Dayna Manning brings a long, respected history as a solo singer/songwriter and as a member of the acclaimed Canadiana trio, "Trent Severn" to the stage. She has been nominated for multiple Canadian Folk Music Awards, a Juno and has toured nationally with the likes of Sarah McLaughlin, Burton Cummings and Joe Cocker. Ask anyone who has seen Dayna perform, she is mesmerizing.

Make a Splash at the Pool
Easter Pool Hours
The pool will be CLOSED from 6:00pm Thursday, April 2 until 1:00pm Saturday, April 4.
Regular hours will take place on Sunday, April 5.
The pool will be open for public swim only on Monday, April 6 from 1:00pm - 4:00pm.
Water Safety Instructor
The Water Safety Instructor Course prepares you to instruct the Red Cross Swim programs. You'll focus on strategies to teach and develop swimming and water safety skills in the Red Cross Swim Preschool, Red Cross Swim Kids and Aqua/Adults program curricula.
PREREQUISITES: Candidates must be certified as an Assistant Water Safety Instructor and be 15 years old by the last day of the course.
IMPORTANT: Admittance to this course will be denied if prerequisites are not met. Please arrive to class 30 minutes early with your original (no photocopies) certification documentation and government issued ID.
Dates & Times: Begins April 19
Tuesday Toonie Tea Seniors Swim
Seniors 65+ are invited to come out and have a swim, or just relax in the hot spots, on Tuesday, April 28 from 10:30am - 12:00pm. The cost is only $2 and tea will be provided!
Junior Lifeguard Club
Kids learn attitudes and skills that could one day save a life their life, or someone else. The Junior Lifeguard Club (JLC) is designed to let kids participate in activities similar to those of real lifeguards in a safe, fun and controlled setting. But just as important, kids experience teamwork and a sense of belonging. They become part of a club, the Junior Lifeguard Club. The Junior Lifeguard Club is a place for kids to:
- Learn about lifesaving and life guarding
- Enjoy friendly competition and special events
- Challenge themselves to aim for personal bests
- Hang out
- Get fit
- Make friends
- Have a great time!
The Junior Lifeguard Club is a unique program, designed as a coaching environment of long-term goals and short-term personal best achievements.
Prerequisites: Can swim 1 length of the pool - 25 meters, Can tread water for 1 minute without stopping, Swim Kids Level 4
Dates & Times: April 13 - Jun 27 Mondays from 4:30pm - 6:00pm Saturdays from 10:30am - 12:00pm

Pomeroy Sport Centre
Walking Track Closures
The Northern Vac Walking Track will be closed on the following days:
Friday, April 3 - Good Friday
Monday, April 6 - Easter Monday
Friday, April 10 - Beginning at 4:00pm until Sunday, April 12 at 6:00pm due to the CKNL Tradeshow.
The walking track will remain open during the setup of the tradeshow.

Community One Stop Registration
Saturday, April 18 at the Totem Mall from 10:00am - 2:00pm.
Come out and see what your community has to offer! This is a great opportunity for Fort St John & Area residents to come to one central location to register for sporting, leisure & cultural activities.
