2015 Community Awards
The 8th Annual Community Awards will take place on April 16th at the Lido Theatre from 7:30pm - 10:00pm. Doors open at 6:30pm.
The purpose of the Community Awards Program is to publicly recognize and honor individuals whose contributions have been of significant benefit to Fort St John. The awards celebrate the talents, dedication and generosity of our outstanding citizens, businesses, athletes, and volunteers whose unique gifts have contributed so greatly to life in Fort St John.
Do you know an individual or a group that has contributed exceptional efforts towards the community?
Nominations are currently being accepted for Cultural Award, Recreation Award, Literacy Award, Humanitarian Award, Mayor's Citizen of the Year and Youth Award.
Forms and guidelines are included in the Nomination Package. Nomination Forms available at www.fortstjohn.ca/community-awards or pick up a copy at City Hall Front Desk and the Pomeroy Sports Center, Visitor Centre Front Desk.
The nomination deadline in March 13th, 2015, but don't delay.

Tickets
Tickets for the Community Awards will be on sale March 2nd at City Hall, the Fort St. John Visitor Centre, and the Lido Theatre. Tickets for youth ages 19 and under and seniors ages 65 and up is $20, adults $30.

Make a Splash at the Pool
Family Swim Night
Hey moms & dads bring your little ones in for some fun & games in the leisure pool on Monday, March 2 from 6-7pm. Regular Admission applies.
National Lifeguard Course
The National Lifeguard - Pool certification is designed to develop the fundamental values, judgment, knowledge, skills and fitness required by lifeguards. The NLScourse emphasizes the life guarding skills, principles and practices, and the decision-making processes which will assist the lifeguard to provide effective safety supervision in swimming pool environments.
Prerequisites: 1) Proof of Standard First Aid with CPR-C or Aquatic Emergency Care must be shown on the first day of the NLS Course. 2) Bronze Cross. 3) 16 years of age by the end of the course
Please note: Emergency First Aid and Occupational First Aid Level 1 are NOT equivalent to Standard First Aid. Occupational First Aid Level 2 & 3 meet the Standard First Aid pre-requisite.

Tuesday Toonie Tea Seniors Swim
Seniors 65+ are invited to come out and have a swim, or just relax in the hot spots, on Tuesday, March 31 from 10:30am - 12:00pm. The cost is only $2 and tea will be provided!

Pomeroy Sport Centre
Spring Break Camp
Spring Break means play time! Calling kids ages 5-10 to come join our leaders over the first week of the break for some exciting activities. Camp will take place from 8:30am-4:30pm March 23-27 at the Kids Arena Field House and each day will be filled with a mix of games on the pitch, crafts, swimming, out trips, and much more! Cost is $225 for the week. Deadline to register is Wednesday, March 18. For more information visit call 250-785-4592. Participants must have completed kindergarten in order to register.
