Torch Celebration in FSJ!!!

The Canada Winter games are coming to Prince George in February, 2015.

Fort St. John has been selected to help kick off the games by acting as the official North Eastern community to host the Illuminate the North Torch Celebration. As part of this celebration, there will be a torch relay taking place on November 22 at 5:00p.m. Torch bearers will run through the streets of the city, igniting one another's flames to help spark the beginning of the games. Once the final torch is lit, participants will gather at Centennial Park for speeches, cultural performances, and a visit from the official Canada Winter games mascot Nanguz the fox! This event is to create awareness and celebrate achievements made by young athletes all over Canada and will feature live media coverage from Global TV.

Join us in celebrating one of the largest sporting events in Canada by coming out and encouraging our torch bearers. Cheer loud, bring your noise makers, and wear your red, blue and gold to support the athletes representing British Columbia.
