Babysitters Course

The Canadian Red Cross Course is aimed towards children ages 11-15.  It teaches the business of babysitting, creating safe environments while caring for babies to school age children and being able to handle emergencies and basic first aid situations.

 

Date:  October 18  & 19

Time:  9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Cost:  $94.64 + Tax

Prerequisite: ages 11+

Completion Requirements:   100% attendance, skills demonstration, and 75% min. passing grade on written exam

Fall Red Cross Lesson Registration

The first fall lesson set will be from October 6 to November 9.  The second set will run from November 17 until December 18.  Registration for lessons can be done in-person, over-the-phone (250.787.8178), or online by clicking here.

 

Family Night

The first Monday of each month is Family Night from 6-7pm in the Leisure Pool.  Come on down for some fun & games on October 9!  Regular Admission applies.

An evening just for our youth!  Games! Fun! Food!

Time:   Tweens 7:30-9:00pm; Teens 9:00-10:30pm

Admission:   $5.00; Includes Drink & Snack

 

   

Walk to Newfoundland

Once again the Pomeroy Sport Centre will be the host to the ever-popular Walking Track Challenges!  Start the fall season with a great workout!  This walking challenge will start in Fort St. John and travel across the nation crossing by Edmonton, Winnipeg, Thunder Bay, Ottawa, Quebec, Labrador and will finish at St John, NL. This challenge is approximately 7,498 km and will go for 6 weeks. 

  • Start date: Monday, September 29
  • End date: Sunday, November 9
  • Registration is FREE and you can register any time during the challenge!
  • Sign-up with a Customer Service Representative at the Visitor Centre (located on the first level of the Pomeroy Sport Centre)
  • These challenges are only for laps completed on the Northern Vac Track
  • Each lap around the Northern Vac Track will equal 20 km.  
  • Track your laps on the tracking sheets provided at the Visitor Centre
  • Have fun!
