Community Tree Rebate Program

The City of Fort St. John is in the process of revamping the annual event known as Arbour Day. Stay tuned for a new initiative coming very soon called the "CommunityTree Rebate" program. This program will provide a rebate to City property owners who purchase a tree for their property. The purpose of the Community Tree Planting Rebate program is to encourage homeowners to beautify their yard and community. Other recognized benefits of urban tree planting include: increased property value, removal of air pollutants and increased energy savings from shade provided from the tree.

By changing the structure of Arbour Day from a subsidized tree distribution program into a rebate program, the City hopes that an increased number of homeowners will be able to benefit from the initiative.

For more information on the Community Tree Planting Rebate program, contact us at City Hall at 250-787-5791.
