As I write this, my windows are open and I hear birds chirping -- what a delight that June is now upon us!

As the month kicked off, my 10-week Core Acting Technique class came to an end. I still get chills thinking about the beautiful work my students did in their last class, truly the culmination of 10 weeks of diligent study. Congratulations!

And just a reminder that there is still plenty of reading time for the next Book Club for Actors. July's meeting will again focus on August Wilson, this time we will be covering his last five plays in historical order.

To help us along, WNYC's The Greene Space has recorded all of August Wilson's plays. These recordings will be available through the end of August (how fitting!). It's a perfect time to delve into these magnificent plays. (Complete details are below and at Art & Soul Acting.)

And I'm thrilled to announce that I will be part of The Puzzle: Marble Collegiate Church's Theatre Festival. On Tuesday, June 16 at 7 PM I will be a part of an evening of 10-minute plays, reading the role of the Evie in Honor Among Thieves
Admission is free, The Marble Loft, 274 Fifth Avenue at 29th Street. For more information, please visit The Puzzle.

Not able to catch me next week, no worries! You can see me this fall in the United Solo Theater Festival where my solo show, Rhonda Badonda: The Adventures of a Girl with a Pain in Her Brain will have its NYC premiere. Tickets are on sale now for my first show on Wednesday, October 7 at 9 PM. You can reserve tickets by visiting United Solo.

Wishing you a month of creative joy in the early summer sun!

Summer Acting Intensive for Teens
Art & Soul Acting travels! The Summer Acting Intensive for Teens is a one-of-a-kind traveling professional acting workshop. Teens spend a week training like the pros!

Created in 2011-but dreamed about for a long time, the aim of this workshop is to bring acting training to teens who might not otherwise have the opportunity to study professionally.

The group activities made me feel as one with my fellow actors in the workshop, and I believe the trusting bond was carried on from the stage to everyday life. I made friends, improvements, and most importantly memories to last a lifetime.

What Actors Ought to Know About Acting Training

In the world of acting things happen quickly. In one moment you're preparing for several auditions and in the next you've been handed a script with the expectation that in a very short amount of time you will be ready to hit the stage or the camera 100% prepared and ready to go.

It's the moment we all live for as actors, but sometimes when it comes it can seem daunting. Where oh where to begin becomes the question, especially once you've realized that the rehearsal you'll be given is inadequate to what the role requires.

To challenge my students to go further and deeper into their studies, I will often pose these questions...
