Happy beautiful, sunny, flowery, gorgeous May! Here on the East Coast, it is about time.

But before we delve into May, a huge thank you shout out to my fabulous staff for April's Actors Pro Expo: Kate O'Phalen, Duvall O'Steen, Kevin Cusick, Shea Davies, Lea McKenna-Garcia & Andrew Rothkin - THANK YOU!!! I could not have done it without you.

And thanks also Actors Pro Expo developers Felicity Jackson & Lianne Robertson for putting together such a wonderful day!

We had a couple hundred actors stop by the Art & Soul Acting booth whom we were thrilled to meet. We gave away approximately 325 Lindt truffles (!), we raised nearly $100 for The Actors Fund, we raffled off some great prizes including 5 gift certificates for The Drama Book Shop and I had a blast leading an audition workshop -- Mastering the Audition Mindset That Books Acting Jobs. (photos below)

SAVE THE DATE: I'm already looking forward to 2016 Actors Pro Expo to be held on Saturday, April 16!

As for May, my 10-week Core Acting Technique class is in full swing -- I'm hoping to offer the next one in the fall.

My weekly and ongoing Drop-In Acting Class is happening every Wednesday evening -- details are below.

And this past Monday, we had a fabulous Book Club for Actors meeting focusing on August Wilson's first five plays in historical order. Looking forward to the second August Wilson book club meeting tomorrow!

Glorious May blessings to you -

Rhonda

What's Going on with Acting Class?
GrowFor an actor, acting class is the #1 laboratory for growth and exploration.  It is the place to take risks...a safe harbor where it's okay to let go of perfection in lieu of stretching and expanding beyond limitations.

The 10-week Core Acting Technique class is in session.

Ground your acting technique and inspire your soul by joining us for the weekly & ongoing Drop-In Acting Class - registration is on a class-by-class basis.

In just one class, Rhonda helped me work through a block I'd had for months! She makes her class feel like a family and encourages true freedom of expression. I felt like I'd worked with her for weeks in just that short amount of time and she seemed to know exactly what direction I needed to go.

Summer Acting Intensive for Teens
Art & Soul Acting travels! The Summer Acting Intensive for Teens is a one-of-a-kind traveling professional acting workshop. Teens spend a week training like the pros!

Created in 2011-but dreamed about for a long time, the aim of this workshop is to bring acting training to teens who might not otherwise have the opportunity to study professionally.

The group activities made me feel as one with my fellow actors in the workshop, and I believe the trusting bond was carried on from the stage to everyday life. I made friends, improvements, and most importantly memories to last a lifetime.

If You Want to Be a Fish, You Better Jump In the Water

Or better said, "If you hear a voice within you saying, 'You are not a painter,' then by all means paint... and that voice will be silenced." - Vincent van Gogh.

How many times do we have an amazing idea that truly inspires us - we walk around thinking about it, we dream about it, we clearly envision the finished product and we even begin planning it in our head and yet... we never actually begin it...
