Here we are smack dab in the middle of the fall season and the time for giving great thanks is quickly approaching.

But why wait till then? There's so much to give thanks for right now!

One of my favorite things to do is to stop, drop and "Give Thanks for 20": 20 things that I am grateful for right in the very moment...without the pressure to include all the "shoulds."

Included for me in this moment is the sweet sound of the rain falling outside, the gorgeous aroma of my morning tea, and a strong and cooperative internet connection. Hallelujah for that!

And I am, of course, grateful for you -- my students, my colleagues, my friends.  I look forward to seeing you as we roll into the holiday season whether it be Private Acting Coaching, my Drop-In Acting Class, the Book Club for Actors, or the 7th annual Leap with Passion workshop.

Details about all of these events are below.

And for you early planners, do check out the Leap with Passion section of the newsletter.  All dates are confirmed and we're just working on some final details for the first ever Leap workshop in Alabama!

With great gratitude -

Rhonda

What's Up with the Book Club for Actors?
Connect

Remaining reading time: 5.5 weeks

On Saturday, December 13 & Monday, December 15 we will be discussing the book Cleaning Augean Stables by Leon Katz.

The Book Club for Actors is offered twice; please choose either meeting:

WHEN: Saturday, December 13, 3-5 - East Village

                 OR

                 Monday, December 15, 7-9 - East Village

WHERE: Location will be e-mailed with RSVP confirmation.

WHAT:

For the next Book Club for Actors we take a bit of a scenic detour through the world of play analysis:

Cleaning Augean Stables: Examining Dramas Strategies by Leon Katz

Leon Katz - now in his 90s - is an Emeritus Professor of Drama at Yale University and the University of North Carolina. His students have long-awaited (and had perhaps even given up hope) that he would put his much revered teachings into writing.

Susan Jonas in American Theatre magazine has called Mr. Katz's Cleaning Augean Stables "indispensable for anyone seriously interested in the art of the play."

That's us! After countless hours of compelling conversation over The Book Club for Actor's 25 playwrights, it's time to add even more understanding and depth to our play reading vocabulary.

Please join us in reading Leon Katz's Cleaning Augean Stables. Order it from your favorite bookstore or find it online, but get reading sooner rather than later as there will be a lot to digest in this wondrous missive that is a lifetime of knowledge shared by a well-loved master teacher.

Created in 2011-but dreamed about for a long time-the aim of this workshop is to bring acting training to teens who might not otherwise have the opportunity to study professionally.

Working with Rhonda Musak is such a privilege. She is so supportive, outgoing and fun--I was thoroughly impressed. My confidence and ability as an actor has grown so much!

  • Turn the challenges of past year into fuel for the next.

Help for Actors: How to Get Things Done and Stay Organized

In the world of acting, the ability to stay organized around a gargantuan amount of things has always been required. In addition, an actor has to be adept at navigating a myriad of acting business trends that are in constant flux.

I started noticing that the organizing methods that I had depended on for so long were not getting the job done anymore...
