May I just say that I think this is the loveliest summer I've ever experienced in NYC since moving here in the olden days of the 1900s!
Keeping in tune with June and July, August, too, has started as a stunner. Making August even more appealing is that it features one of my favorite theatrical events: The New York International Fringe Festival.
2014 FringeNYC runs from August 8-23 and features 200 shows. I will be, of course, immersing myself in solo shows as I have already begun rehearsal for my solo show: Rhonda Badonda: The Adventures of a Girl with a Pain in Her Brain. (Performance dates will be announced sometime in the future.)
Interested in acting class? Check out the "What's going on with acting class?" section below for a complete update on all of my classes.
Wishing you lovely languid August days -
Rhonda
PS A quick reminder to my students: Please remember to get your show information to me a few days before the end of the month so I can include you here in my newsletter. Thanks!

Summer Acting Intensive for Teens
|
Art & Soul Acting travels! The Summer Acting Intensive for Teens is a one-of-a-kind traveling professional acting workshop. Teens spend a week training like the pros!
Created in 2011-but dreamed about for a long time-the aim of this workshop is to bring acting training to teens who might not otherwise have the opportunity to study professionally.
The group activities made me feel as one with my fellow actors in the workshop, and I believe the trusting bond was carried on from the stage to everyday life. I made friends, improvements, and most importantly memories to last a lifetime. ~ Brandon Vlach ~
Summer 2014 workshops have been completed and our sights are set on 2015. Stay tuned....

Why I Love Actor Newsletters (And What Having One Can Do for You)
My e-mail inbox is a very busy place. My guess is that yours is, too. And to be more effective and efficient, I've recently been taking the Inbox Zero approach to sorting and processing my email. This tactic has proved quite successful.
However when I see a newsletter come into my inbox from one of my acting students or an acting colleague, I throw efficiency out the window and get excited...

Vocal Remedies for Actors
A strong and expressive speaking voice ranks among the top requirements of actors. But what do you do when your vocal cords, or vocal folds (as they are now commonly referred to), are down and the only thing coming out of your mouth is silence? Or even when you're experiencing vocal fatigue due to overusing your voice?...
