January 23 is the last test date for the old version of the SAT. The registration deadline is December 28.
March 5 is the first date for the new version. The registration deadline is February 5.
Khan Academy, in partnership with The College Board, now offers free online SAT prep.

The Hour of Code is a global initiative to introduce students to coding.
Code.org and
Khan Academy offer free one-hour tutorials that make coding fun and easy. Check these out to explore computer science as a college major or to build skills to complement another field of study.
6th-12th grade students create a script or storyboard for a 30 second public service announcement (PSA) to help prevent distracted walking. The grand prize is $1,000 and a trip to New York City to film the PSA. Deadline is February 6.
