Donate Appreciated Stock

to Reality Changers

"if an investor wants to make a gift and help themself to a bigger tax break, there is a better option. If an investor has held an appreciated stock or mutual fund for more than one year, they can donate those securities to a charity and receive a tax deduction for the fair market value of the securities, and eliminate any capital gains assessments on the future sale of the securities. Make a Direct Gift

to Reality Changers

From Your IRA

The American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 extends provisions for IRA charitable rollovers for 2013. This allows people age 70 1/2 and older to make direct gifts from an Individual retirement Account (IRA) to a qualified charity like Reality Changers -- tax free. The gift would qualify towards your minimum IRA distribution requirement, and you could choose to give any amount up to $100,000 this year.

To enjoy these tax benefits for 2013, you must complete this year's transfer prior to December 31st. Check with your advisors about the best ways to take advantage of this giving opportunity and how state and federal tax laws may affect your plans.
