Family Update

Things have been in fast forward at the Espanioly house. Samuel and baby sister Eliza are doing great. Eliza is already 4 months old (so hard to believe!) and Samuel (2 yrs) absolutely adores her. Both attended a family wedding with us over this past weekend and enjoyed "dancing" along with the wedding party at the reception. Rani continues to excel in seminary studies, maintaining a 3.7 GPA and carrying a full-time status as well as working. He is on track for a January, 2015 graduation with his Masters in Islamic Studies. He has also begun another part-time job working with the Baptist General Convention of Texas on a contract basis as a cross-cultural mobilizer with specific outreach to Muslim students on college campuses. Both of us are enjoying the work of our ministry and have had many new opportunities over the past few months.

Holy Land Connection Workshop - Jan 25, 2014

We enjoyed hosting our very first Holy Land Connection Workshop on January 25, 2014. The workshop allowed us to share about the Arab Christians of the Holy Land and explore current ministry opportunities. We had a great experience and loved interacting with our special guests, Dr. Munir Kakish and wife Sharon of Ramallah Christian Outreach, Andre and Marie Mubarak of Twins Tours, Scott Bridger from Criswell College and Steve Thompson of Center for Global Ministries. We are looking forward to many more such workshops!

If your church or organization is interested in hosting a workshop, please contact us.

Ministry Tours - Upcoming Events

We are thrilled to have several exciting ministry tours on the horizon. As many of you know, it has long been our vision to encourage ministry work as a part of the traditional sightseeing trips many churches take to the Holy Land. This summer and fall we have the pleasure of partnering with some churches/organizations who are planning such tours. Along with Twins Tours, based in Jerusalem, SALAM is offering ministry tours as a way to touch the Holy Land beyond mere sightseeing. We have also helped pair long and short term volunteers with ministries in Israel and Palestine.
  • June/July - Southeastern Baptist Collegiate Ministry from Oklahoma will be volunteering with several of our ministry partners in both Israel and Palestine.
  • Mid June - Faith United Methodist Church ministry tour. Rani will serve as the tour host.
  • July 4-16 - Operation Care International ministry tour "Feeding the 5,000." SALAM is partnering with this ministry, along with Twins Tours, to work alongside seven different Arab and Jewish ministries in an effort to touch the lives of 5,000 children.
