Dear Members, Delegates and Friends:

As summer quickly comes to a close, I want to provide you with an update on the Coalition calendar and elections for this year.  After much discussion and consideration, the Board of Directors voted to move the Annual Meeting of the Coalition from September to December.  This will allow us to conduct elections on a calendar year basis, which coincides with our dues schedule and our budget.  If you are a Director who is up for election, you will be notified in the next several weeks about running for renewal of your position.  If you are looking to join the Board, please contact me.

We will also be reaching out to our new members directly to see if there is interest.  The Board also voted to cap the number of Directors at 60 to encourage greater participation in the day-to-day activities of the Coalition.  All committee chair positions will also rollover on a calendar year basis.  We hope that these changes will prepare us for strong and active participation in the future and resolve some of the confusion and inconsistency among our organizational calendar.

I encourage you to take advantage of our programs for the rest of the year.  We are excited to host Paulette Brown, Talita Erickson and Jayne Reardon on September 17 for a roundtable discussion.  If you are not familiar with Paulette and her groundbreaking status as President of the ABA this year, I encourage you to take a few minutes and read some of the recent articles.

Please feel free to reach out to me with any suggestions, comments or questions.  I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events.

Coalition Board President
