Dear Members, Delegates and Friends:

I am happy to report that our Membership and PR Committee has completed its 2015 dues renewal process and is looking forward to prospecting new member firms and in-house counsel to the Coalition. If you have friends or contacts that might be interested in joining us, please let us know. We have a presentation available that can be given to prospective members.
On the topic of new members, Katherine Minarik and I attended the inaugural meeting of the New York Steering Committee last week. This group will be working through the fall and winter to spread the word and build interest in bringing the Coalition to New York. With many of our member firms already represented on the Steering Committee, we believe this is a natural extension for our organization and found the energy and enthusiasm of those in attendance to resemble that of our initial group when the Coalition first launched. We will keep you posted on upcoming events. Please take a moment to mark your calendar for the upcoming events listed below in this Newsletter. Regards, Marcia Owens Coalition Board President

SAVE THE DATE:
Coalition of Women's Initiatives in Law 6th Annual Leadership Forum
The Coalition invites you to save the date - November 19, 2015 - for our Sixth annual Leadership Forum. This year's Leadership Forum will feature keynote speaker Christie Hefner, the Chairman of Hatch Beauty, a brand and product innovation company. Previously, Hefner served as Chairman and CEO of Playboy Enterprises, Inc. making her the longest serving female Chairman and CEO of a U.S. public company. During her tenure, she oversaw policy, management and strategy in all areas of the company. And for three years she was named to FORTUNE'S list of "Most Powerful Women" Hefner was also a founding member of The Chicago Chapter of Women Corporate Directors, and she was the first woman elected into the Chicago Chapter of the Young Presidents' Organization.
The Coalition's Leadership Forum will also honor women and organizational leaders in the Chicago area legal community with our annual Leadership Forum Awards. A cocktail reception with our speakers and award winners will immediately follow the forum.
Please mark your calendars for November 19, 2015, at 5p.m. at Kirkland & Ellis. If you would like to help with the final planning of the Leadership Forum, please reach out to the Coalition at Chicago@thewomenscoalition.com.
