Dear Members, Delegates and Friends:

As the first quarter of 2015 comes to a close, it is time to evaluate your goals for the year and determine whether you are on track.  Undoubtedly, mentoring is somewhere on your list.  You will see by this newsletter that it was also on the minds of our Coalition members.  Please take the time to read about the program created by the Advisory Committee for more senior level women and the program created by the Career Development Committee for junior to mid-level women.

On April 22, we will launch our first New Member Breakfast.  This will be an opportunity for all of our law firm and in-house members that joined the Coalition over the past year to learn more about our organization, the committees that drive our success and the ways in which you or others in your firm can participate.  If you know of any prospective members that might benefit from this breakfast, please us know.

Our annual dues notice and membership mailing was sent out earlier this week by electronic mail and by hard copy to the main delegates or individual members.  Please process this in a timely manner, so the Coalition can continue to provide relevant programming and opportunities.

Regards,

Marcia Owens

Coalition Board President

One Size Never Fits All Business Development Strategies Tailored
for Women

(and Most Men)

Featuring Dr. Arin Reeves

One size never fits all. Yet, much of the business and leadership advice given to women on how to thrive and advance in workplaces is based on how men thrive and advance. The sustainable advancement of women requires that we recognize and understand the differences between how women and men communicate, work and lead, and this talk will dive into those differences in a candid, thoughtful and practically applicable way.

Informal Mentoring Program

Are you interested in some easy mentoring as either a mentor or a mentee? Can you spare one hour? If so, the Career Development Committee would like you to be part of our informal summer mentoring program.

We are looking for junior to mid-level Coalition attorneys who think they could benefit from a one-hour candid conversation with a more senior Coalition attorneys. And we are looking for mid-level to senior attorneys who are willing to give guidance and perspective to more junior attorneys in a one-hour meeting.

If you're interested in being a mentee or mentor, please click here and send your responses to Chicago@thewomenscoalition.com

We will pair off mentor/mentee pairs in May and ask mentees to reach out to their mentors to schedule a one-hour lunch no later than July 31. All mentors and mentees will be invited to a networking happy hour in late summer/early fall.
