Mental illness and mental crises affect many people on Cape Cod and these situations are inundating police, fire and hospital organizations.  Yet, most police and fire agencies are not certain of the mental health services that are available and who can be turned to for assistance when dealing with persons in crisis.  This meeting is an effort to more formally bring together the organizations that deal with mental illness and persons in crisis so we can better understand how we can assist each other.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and the Taunton Community Crisis Intervention Team (CCIT) is supporting and assisting with this effort.  Meeting will take place on August 22, 2014, 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the Chatham Community Center, 702 Main St., Chatham.  Please RSVP to Melanie Boutin, Chatham Police Department, at mboutin@chathampolicema.com
