ACRYLITEŽ Soundstop offers functionality, flexibility and design versatility.
Clear ACRYLITEŽ Soundstop Noise Barrier panels are installed along the Metra / Union Pacific North Line in Chicago, Illinois. The clear panels, elevated since they sit atop a retaining wall, lower noise levels for the Kenosha Subdivision without blocking visibility and natural light. Transparency and improved aesthetics were among the reasons ACRYLITEŽ Soundstop was selected.
On either side of the New York Avenue Bridge over the Washington DC Metro Rail Lines (near Florida Avenue) ACRYLITEŽ Soundstop panels line the sidewalks to form a protective barrier limiting access to high voltage lines associated with the rail system. Due to the application and proximity to vehicular traffic, clear panels with fragment retaining filaments are used. These filaments provide a safety effect to prevent pieces of the panel from falling in the event of a significant impact.
Similar to the protective screening in Washington DC, ACRYLITEŽ Soundstop panels are used on bridges over RTD's East Rail line from the Denver International Airport into downtown Denver. Designers chose clear panels to provide protective screening along several bridges within Denver city limits for the improved appearance versus steel or other potential barriers.
Approximately 150,000 sqft of ACRYLITEŽ Soundstop is being installed along the Go Transit Georgetown South Project in Toronto, Ontario. See photos and renderings of this in progress project here.
