From the FASRI blogroll

Many thanks to our teachers for providing a wonderful overnight experience at Alton Jones for our intrepid campers in first and second grade.

Helping in Haiti

FASRI teachers gathered up all the French text books recently that they no longer use. The collection, weighing over 200lbs., was sent to HealingHaiti.org which has been collecting books from all over the US. The organization has chartered a plane that will fly the books out to Haiti this summer. Ann Spinner from the organization writes, "Generous people from all over the United States want to help kids in Haiti. To all the schools that donated books...you're the best."
Founder's Day 2014

Middle School news

The event brought together middle and high school students from 23 Providence-area schools to perform scenes from a Shakespeare play.

FASRI Buddy Family Program

Reminder: Please help us in welcoming new families by being a buddy family. New families are assigned a returning family who will make them feel welcome and serve as a friendly parent resource throughout the year. A buddy family initiates contact with new family, arranges an informal gathering or playmate over the summer, attends school events with them and answers any questions about FASRI the family may have. Click here to sign up, or email Raissa Mensah for more information.

Remember, even if you don't participate in this program, you are making an important contribution to our school community every time you introduce yourself to someone new!

FASRI Parent Association

The PA would like to thank all of the families who helped make the park clean-up this past weekend such a success! Over thirty people turned out to clean up litter, spread 9 cubic yards of mulch under playground equipment, and add several hundreds of pounds of new sand to the sandbox. Fox Point residents and FASRI families worked together to make the park beautiful. Stop by and take a look at all their worthwhile, hard work! Special thanks to Carrie Drake and Megan McCain for organizing the day!

Save the date: Sunday, June 1, 11am - 1pm
