All school news

We hope that all are keeping warm during this unseasonal cold snap. The spring weather is coming soon! A few reminders this week:

Please note that that there will be no school on Friday, March 28 for faculty day.

You may also wish to note that many public schools are closed on Friday, April 18, in observance of Good Friday. While FASRI has school on that day, this may affect student bus transportation. Parents are advised to contact their city's school bus authorities directly to see if service will be provided on this day for their children.

Snow days and summer vacation:

Please remember that FASRI has three snow days built into our academic calendar. At this time, we are on schedule to end the year Tuesday, June 17. This is reflected in our most recently updated academic schedule.

Maternelle and Elementary news

Parent-teacher conferences are continuing this week.

Swimming for preschool through first grade starts the week of April 14 until the end of May. Please return the waiver release and authorization forms as soon as possible if you have not already done so.

Middle School news

The Middle School held a Spirit Week to celebrate Fracophonie and build a greater sense of community among the students. It was a huge success and the students loved it. On St. Patrick's Day we wore green. Then we had Pajama Day, Wacky Wednesday and Teacher/Student Swap where students dressed as their teachers and teachers emulated their pupils (shown here. We wrapped up the week in elegant fashion with Fancy Dress Day and a celebration of Fracophonie cultures around the world, from Quebec to Senegal. Students prepared presentations on different cultres for the younger grades. Parents also shared their own knowledge and experiences of other French-speaking cultures with students. Food and music was enjoyed by all.

We give our sincere thanks for all our "spirited" volunteers who made the event a success for the entire school community. We hope to make it an annual event!

FASRI Parent Association

Please remember that the Faculty/Staff Appreciation Luncheon will be held on Friday, March 28. If you signed up to contribute something for the luncheon, thank you! You may deliver it to the main office.

Thanks also for your generous contributions to the Parent Association clothing drive that will support Flying Kites, in Nairobi, Kenya. Please stay posted for more details about the positive impact of our shared efforts!
