All School
Happy new year! Winter is here in full force, and with news reports about record lows and the polar vortex we hope all FASRI families are staying safe on the road and keeping warm.
- In below-freezing temperatures, students will remain indoors for recess, but please continue to send them to school with socks, boots, hats, scarves, gloves, and winter coats. We will be providing additional time to retrieve your cold weather items in the lost and found. Stop in the office before we donate them this Friday.
- We want to ensure that we always have the most accurate information on file for your family. Take a moment to review and update your address, telephone, and email contact information using the Parent Portal on the school's website: http://www.fasri.org/parents/parent-portal
Your username is your family's primary email address. Please use the password which was assigned to you over the summer or at the beginning of the school year. If you have lost or forgotten this information, just contact the office. Please note: use lachung@fasri.org for all emails to Leslie Ann Chung.

Did you hear Dominique Velociter on NPR?
On New Year's Day, listeners all over Rhode Island tuned in for Dominique's beautiful essay on This I Believe. She spoke about the inspiration and insights that have guided her during the past 20 years as the Head of School at FASRI. The essay, entitled Every Educator Needs a Superhero, looks at how children and adults alike can look to characters in fiction or literature to help distill and clarify what is essential in our lives. Click here to hear a recording of the show on the RIPR website.
