His first novel, "Red Earth and Pouring Rain," won the 1996 commonwealth writers prize for Best First Book.-Saikat Majumdar, is an assistant professor of English at Stanford University, He is the author of a novel, "Silverfish." Laleh Khadivi, an Iranian-American author. Her debut novel, "The Age of Orphans," received the Whiting Award for Fiction, the Barnes and Nobles Discover New Writers Award and an Emory Fiction Fellowship. -Dr Daniel Herwitz is a distinguished scholar and the author of books in aesthetics, politics and modern and contemporary art.
Indian actress Azmi has appeared in over 120 Hindi films in both mainstream and independent cinema. In addition to acting, Azmi is a social and women's right activist, a Goodwill Ambassador of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and a member of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian parliament.

Akihito Ochi: Commemorative Piano Concert
Akihito Ochi is a Japanese pianist with Down syndrome. He started playing piano at 9 years old and later began to compose his own music. At age 14, he performed his compositions in public for the first time. His music is inspired by the scenery he has experienced traveling throughout Japan. This concert is in memory of his father who passed away 30 years ago.

Storied Past: Four Centuries of French Drawings from the Blanton Museum of Art
This exhibition features 60 French drawings created over a span of four centuries, all drawn from the Suida-Manning collection at the Blanton Museum of Art at the University of Texas at Austin. The show demonstrates the range of subject matter characteristic of old master French drawings and emphasizes the narrative character of the French tradition.
