A Message from the President

Dear Impact 100 Greater Indianapolis Members and Friends,

It's that time of year where we all make our final charitable giving decisions for 2012. Personally, I add up what I've given, compare it to what I intended to give, think about what impact I may have made, and evaluate whether or not I've met my goals.  Of course,

Karen Kennelly
Karen Kennelly, President
Impact 100 Greater Indianapolis

I always think I could have done more and vow to do more the next year!

As you reflect on the year and think through these things as well, please remember the significant impact your $1,000 has made in prior years and the knowledge you have gained about the wonderful organizations in our community. Or if you aren't yet a member, talk to a member, read our Progress Report chronicling our past seven years, surf through our  website, and learn more about the tremendous impact you would be able to make on the greater Indianapolis community by becoming a member. The residual benefits to both yourself and the community are everlasting!

Karen Kennelly

President, Impact 100 Greater Indianapolis

Click here to find a description of the FACs and their meeting times in 2013. Please submit your Committee request (or questions) to Diane Pfeiffer at pfeifferdi@aol.com. Impact 100 Finalist Update:
Jameson Camp

The 2012 Impact 100 winner, Jameson Camp, is making great strides with its funded Environmental Education program, says CEO Dan Shepley.

The Impact 100 grant has enabled Jameson Camp to improve its programming in a number of ways. Since Jameson Camp received the grant (just five months ago) their environmental education program has served about 1,500 youth. This is significantly more students than in 2011. Last year, Jameson Camp served just over 1,000 students for the entire year. Not only have the number of day and overnight field trips steadily increased, but more children have been introduced to nature and science in a fun, hands-on, active way. The Impact 100 grant has also allowed Jameson to offer a wider variety of enriching activities to about 500 summer campers with disadvantaged backgrounds.

Finally, Jameson is creating new learning opportunities on their grounds and has completed renovations for a small pond, an interpretative trail with native plants and trees and is working on a bridge and natural playground for nature-based and imaginative play.

"We are so pleased to be able to give more kids an opportunity to get outdoors and learn about nature," says Shepley. "Jameson Camp is very thankful to all the Impact 100 members for our grant."
