Everyday We Don't Waste distributes nutritious restaurant grade food to vulnerable populations.  They believe we have a responsibility to find solutions to hunger and reduce food waste in a collaborative manner.

 

 

We Don't Waste is an innovative provider of food for the hungry. Collecting unused food from venues, caterers, restaurants, and other food purveyors and distribute the food to Denver's underserved populations. Efforts augment existing food and supplies needed by community-based non-profit agencies, with high quality protein, high quality produce along with wholesome, nutritional and varied "restaurant-grade" meals, along with personal hygiene items.

Juices are no longer one-size-fits-all; soon there will be a juice for everyone, and every reason. You used to drink your green juice for leafy greens and fruits.  2015 is expected to be the year of stress-reducing sips, sleep-better bottles, blends to down pre-workout, and more concoctions to help with your complexion. Bottoms up!


Bone broth is the new "it" wellness beverageBone broth may be an ancient health remedy, but its modern moment has arrived.  And consumers are grasping the concept right away, preaching its health benefits.
In other words, while bone broth's simmering right now, it's about to
reach a boiling point.


  • We've known sugar isn't great for us, but in 2015 its very unsweet side will the topic of a lot of buzz.
    Trans fat, gluten, and dairy have all had their moment in the cross-hairs-and in 2015, sugar looks to be the next target. With an increased awareness of sugar's not so sweet side-from the documentary Fed Up that showed what a health-disrupting nightmare sugar has become to the journalist-turned-anti-sugar spokesperson Sarah Wilson who wrote a book about quitting it-more people are forgoing the one-lump-or-two mentality, even when it's in raw or other seemingly healthy forms.

    Demand for low-alcohol and low-calorie beverages is increasing around the world, according to findings in the new IWSR Insight Report 2012, and women are said to be driving the trend.

    Trends are emerging from Asia to Latin America across the wine and spirits categories.  Drinkers are demanding what are perceived to be healthier alternatives to full-strength products.

     

     

    Further studies are showing that 

    low-fat dairy may be overrated and full-fat dairy could have more going for it than you'd think.  Look for whole milk products, full fat butters, and flavored butters.  Expect to see way less low-fat dairy options and imitation butter spreads in 2015.

     
     

     The banana blossom will be seen on health menus everywhere.  It is an edible flower used in Southeast Asian and Indian cooking, where they consider it a vegetable. 

    Found in Asian grocery stores in the US, banana blossoms can be eaten raw, and are also cooked in soups, stews, and curries. They can also be steamed and served with dips, and peeled apart like an artichoke. Some people claim the flower's petals taste like artichoke leaves. Similar to artichokes, the fleshy petals and the "heart" of the banana blossom are edible the blossoms are rich in dietary fibers, proteins and unsaturated fatty acids, banana flowers are also rich in vitamin E and flavonoids.
