PalletFest and Upcycle Events

From their fun and informative website:
Upcycle Events was born through the process of creating Palletfest. The mission is to spread the word and knowledge of upcycling through fun interactive experiences. Their goal is to provide our communities with a chance to explore the world of upcycling. Upcycling promotes creativity and gives old objects new life. Not only can we make items that are beautiful, fun and functional but we're also able to keep tons of waste out of our landfills in the process. From the simple to the sensational, the practical to the impossible, from waste to grace, and from trash to treasure, Opportunities are truly endless through upcycling. A whole new world of art and décor are upon us and Upcycle Events wants to be a the forefront of this movement. And that's how palletfest came about. You can make practically anything out of pallets from a garden planter to a wine rack
to a table to a house and
in this case a Festival.

During fall, the days start to get shorter. That's because our planet is actually tilted in space! When it's fall where you live, that means you point more away from the sun, causing longer nights and shorter days.
When fall approaches, the green-colored food-making chlorophyll of plants is no longer needed, which is what leaves us with the other colors that had been overpowered all summer long: Beautiful reds, oranges, yellows, and even purples!!
The pumpkin was first named by people in Greece, who called this orange edible a "pepon," which means "large melon".
There are only two days of the year when you can stand an egg on end. One of these days falls on the first day of autumn. To do this you will need and egg. It does not have to be hard-boiled. Place the egg on a hard flat surface on its largest end. Carefully pull your hands away and it should remain upright. This can only be done on the spring and fall equinox.
During fall, birds prepare for winter migration. One of the longest migrations is the 11,000 mile journey by the Arctic Tern. However, the bar headed goose is also impressive reaching heights of 28,000 feet to skim over the Himalayas.
Leaves are the energy generators for plants. By using sunlight, water and carbon dioxide and chlorophyll they create food for the tree. The trees then pass oxygen into the air. The reason that the leaves change color is due to the shortening of the days. As this occurs the leaves begin to produce less chlorophyl and change color. Many people think that the leaves turn color but this is not true. The leaves are actually the colors we see in the fall. The reason that the leaves are green is because they are full of chlorophyll.

Did you know Colorado is famous for our beautiful fall color? Thanks to the aspen tree our mountains become transformed for fall!

While we call this season 'fall', the British call it 'autumn'. Both words date from around the same period in the 16th century. Before these terms came into use, this period was called 'harvest'.
