Serendipity Catering Highlights a Friend

The newest venue in Denver:

blanc

Coming this March -- an exciting and brand new venue in Denver's Ballpark Neighborhood.

blanc is an ideal (and surprising) venue with indoor and an outdoor area in the city.

We asked Patty, blanc's venue coordinator, about what to expect from this amazing new space.

***

Q: What makes blanc so unique?

A: Being located in downtown Denver you don't expect great indoor and outdoor space and the outdoor spaces is unexpected!  It includes a tree-lined courtyard, a rustic barn, an industrial board table set in a steel gazebo with a steal chandelier and a fireside patio. There is private, gated parking and the venue interior offers a gallery which is large, open and loft style ceilings as well as a smaller space, The Innovation Room which is designed as creative spaces with walls and tables you can write on!

Q: The space is so versatile!  What types of events are best suited for blanc?

A: Interesting we have had several inquires for weddings but really it is ideal for a multitude of events from non-profit fundraising events to social affairs, corporate meetings or parties and weddings!

Q: You are opening in March, the beginning of wedding season.  What trends are you seeing for local weddings and brides?

A: blanc is designed complimentary to its name with white walls, great windows that welcome an abundance of natural light and overgrown ivy that frames the doors leading to a fantastic courtyard!  The outdoor space offers an intimate tree lined ceremony area, a gazebo as the main focal point and a fireside patio ideal for an outdoor reception or late night marshmallow roasting!  I would define the space as open, airy and unexpected in the heart of the city!  The painted walls casually expose red bricks and open ceiling reminding you of its industrial history.  This type of diversity in a venue is uncommon to discover, especially in an urban setting.  Overall the venue offers a blank palette for the bride to design her vision from ceremony to reception!  Wedding trends this year continue the eclectic furniture theme, one thematic color burst thread throughout the celebration and multiple vendors allowing Pinterest boards to come to life!  blanc in many ways delivers these trends and visions with ease and affordability.

Q: What local celebrity, or sportsman do you wish would have an event at blanc?  What would the theme be?

A: Let's call it what it is - let's wash the venue in Orange and celebrate the Denver Broncos Super Bowl WIN!

Did You Know?

WHISKEY

Whiskey and food pairings are the newest way to enhance your dinning experience.  Try a these three simple foods with Whiskey, and get on-board with the latest darling of culinary and beverage pairings.

Cheese
Pair smoky or spicy whiskeys, like Lagavulin with a stronger cheese such as Roquefort. With a sweeter whiskey like a locally distilled, Leopold Bros,  serve softer cheese such as brie.

Fruit
Tangy or tart fruits, like apples or pears, go well with whiskey. Try to stay away from citrus fruits -- this will mask too much of the whiskey's flavor.
Best to pair with fruit:

Chocolate
Whiskey is a great complement to chocolate, especially dark chocolate!
Try local favorite Stranahan's.

"Thank you so much for everything!

If I had to name a favorite, I would say the stand-out was the quail wellington.  The appetizers were definitely a huge hit!  Everyone loved dinner, and even though we're (allegedly) not big dessert fans I think dessert was a
huge hit as well!

The evening flowed very well - we never felt rushed or like we were lagging behind.

The comments I have gotten back from our team is that we want to do this again next year."
