I haven't written for several weeks, because I didn't have anything
from the Lord
that I knew was for you.
Now I do...

You Better Get Ready for What's Coming

I believe it's a fair statement, that none of us have ever seen days like these. The unusual, strange, and even the "never can happen", are now the norm. We will come back to this in a minute.

Do you believe Jesus is the Son of God? Is He Lord of all? More importantly for this conversation, "Do you believe He came to earth in the flesh?" If you said yes to these questions, then let's draw a logical conclusion, one that doesn't bend scripture or relies on a personal revelation me or anyone else "received from the Lord". This is a rock-solid scriptural truth...

...Everything that Jesus taught, all that He promised, and everything that His death and resurrection accomplished...totally depend on His Return. If He never returns in human history (whenever it is) then everything "Christian" was/is for nothing. Sadly many former on-fire Christians are acting like His certain return isn't true. But it's true alright.

The Testimony of Jesus Demands It

On the night of His betrayal He promised the disciples, "I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself". (John 14:2,3) He told the High Priest the same night during His arrest, "You will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven". (Mark14:62)

If Jesus doesn't return, He lied. If He is a liar, we cannot believe anything He said.

The Testimony of the Holy Spirit Demands it

The day before He died, Jesus speaking of the mission of the Holy Spirit in our lives said this, "When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me". (John 15:26) And a few minutes later, "But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you." (John 16:7)

The Holy Spirit did indeed come very spectacularly on the Day of Pentecost. His coming proves that Jesus was telling the truth, and that He made it back to Heaven where the Father accepted His sacrifice! (We have received already "One" promised coming.)

The Spirit's purpose today is to be a "pledge, a down payment" on everything Jesus obtained for us with His work on the Cross.

If we only get the down payment, but not the whole purchase, again...someone is lying!

"Now He who has made us and prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave us the [Holy] Spirit as a pledge [a guarantee, a down payment on the fulfillment of His promise].
" (II Corinthians 5:5)

So What???

Someone might argue, "It's been 2000 years and He hasn't returned. He isn't coming!"

Wouldn't you know it, I have a Scripture for you!

"Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation." (II Peter 3:3,4)

God knew you were going to say that!

Then He says "Why" Jesus has waited...

"The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance."
(II Peter 3:9)

I Have a Point...

 * Jesus is going to Return.
Stay dressed and awake. He's overdue.

* These days aren't the strangest-ever for no reason.
If these days had happened 20 years ago no one would even physically sleep!
These days it seems a lot of people are asleep. Which brings me to the final
    point...

* If He is returning, we better take heed to His warnings about it!
That's the next Lifelines. (This week. Not two months.)
