WHY DO I HAVE TO GO TO CHURCH TODAY?
When I was young, it was because: "I said so."
When I was in my teens: "As long as you live here and we pay your bills, you are going to church, I don't care what time you got home."
When I became a young adult: Well, I was the Pastor.
Today, I'm still the Pastor, but I want to be there when I am preaching or if we have a guest, because there is an aspect of the Lord's Presence I can't get, except in the assembly of the believers. "For where two or more are gathered in His name, He is in the midst". (Matthew 18:20)
Today it seems there is a move in our culture away from a need for Church. But I say it's just a cover for the whole culture drifting away from God. Hebrews 10:25 says...
"not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near".
I see Jesus coming. I'm going to church. I would even if I wasn't preaching.
