2014 Bishop Election Do you know what's happening on January 11?
If you are planning on participating in the process of electing a new bishop for the Saint Paul Area Synod, please register and plan to attend the Open Forum on the Synod Profile on Jan. 11 at Gloria Dei, St. Paul. The Bishop Election Committee will present and lead a critical discussion of the synod profile, followed by an opportunity to formulate questions to be asked of candidates for the office of bishop at the candidate forums to be held in April. Download the synod profile and find additional information about the election process at www.spas-elca.org/bishopelection2014. Registration deadline for this event is Thursday, Jan. 9.

Request print copies of the synod profile for your voting members The synod office has a limited number of printed copies of the synod profile which you may request for your voting members. To request your copies of the synod profile, please call the synod office at 651.224.4313. Print copies will also be available for voting members at the open forum and conference assemblies.

Power and Boundaries Workshop
Thursday, Jan. 16, 8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Roseville Lutheran, Roseville. Bishop Rogness and the Rev. Susan Miller will facilitate a workshop on ethics in ministry. The training includes a discussion on power and gender issues, appropriate boundaries for rostered leaders, self-care and vulnerability, and a review of the synod's response procedure for accusations of sexual boundary violations. For Children, Youth, and Family Ministry Professionals and Volunteers
Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
St. Stephen's, White Bear Lake. This seminar for Children, Youth and Families (CYF) ministry professionals and volunteers will address the importance of establishing and maintaining healthy, professional ministry boundaries.
