Synod profile published
The Bishop Election Committee (BEC) has published a profile of the Saint Paul Area Synod, which will serve two important purposes as we prepare to elect a new synod bishop in 2014:
- To provide the information members of the synod need to participate knowledgeably in the nomination and election processes in the months ahead, and
- To help potential candidates for bishop understand the needs of the synod and assess their fit for this important role in the church.
The synod profile contains important information for both members and potential candidates on the mission, vision, and ministry of the synod and its congregations. It also provides background on the historical and cultural contexts for the synod's ministry, as well as basic information on its day-to-day operations, including staffing, budget and finance, and important ministry partnerships.
