| Churchwide assembly this week
 August 12-17, 2013
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The 13th biennial assembly of the ELCA starts today and runs through this week. Support this synod's 23 voting members as well as Bishop Rogness and Beth Helgen, assistant to the bishop for administration, by:
- Praying for them. Pray for safe travels. Pray for open and discerning hearts and minds.
- Watching assembly proceedings live. During the assembly, live video will be available online at www.ELCA.org/assembly. You can also find the assembly report, information, and other media from throughout the week there.
- Tuning in during the assembly via the ELCA website and/or pertinent social media:

Accepting applications for Director of Bega Kwa Bega
Recently, we began our search for the Director of Bega Kwa Bega (BKB), our synod's partnership with the Iringa Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania.
We will accept applications until Aug. 30, begin interviews in Sept., and seek to have the director in place by Nov. 1.  The initial work of the Director of BKB will include orientation by the Iringa Committee and staff in the Office of the Bishop and travel to Iringa for an extended period beginning in Jan. 2014 More.

 Believe it or not, back-to-school is just around the corner. If you have new or returning college students in y our congregation or family, share their info with Lutheran Campus Ministry.
Continue to minister to them by allowing a campus pastor to connect with them wherever they are!
