The synod office will be closed Monday, Jan. 21 for Martin Luther King, Jr., Day. Regular office hours (M-F 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.) will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 22. Visit the synod website for more information.

Tool Kit registration is open!
Invite lay leaders from your congregation to this annual training event hosted by the Saint Paul Area Synod. Tool Kit features extended conversation with Bishop Rogness, networking opportunities with leaders from congregations throughout this synod, and
workshops with information specific to leadership matters and concerns.

Interested in mission renewal?

Congregations are invited to participate in the next Mission Renewal Process which will begin with a workshop on Saturday, Feb. 2, 8:30 a.m.-12:00 noon, at Christ, Lake Elmo. Each congregation is invited send a team, including a pastor and four to seven lay leaders, to learn about the process. 

 

The cost is $150 per congregation. Those wishing to continue the process will be invited to participate in quarterly workshops. To register, call the synod office at 651.224.4313. For more information, contact Susan Miller or Paul Erickson or visit www.spas-elca.org.  

Bishop Larry Wohlrabe to keynote at conference assemblies 
This year's conference assemblies will be held at Redeemer, White Bear Lake on Saturday, Feb. 9, 8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Larry Wohlrabe, bishop of the Northwestern Minnesota Synod, will speak on "Picking Up the Pieces: Stories of Diakonia After Disasters."

 

Wohlrabe graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and Luther Seminary, St. Paul, where he was awarded a Doctor of Ministry degree with distinction. Ordained in 1981, he served parishes in Willmar, St. James, and Moorhead. He was also on the staff of Luther Seminary, St. Paul, and the Southwestern Minnesota Synod.

The Macedonia Project:  An adventure in stewardship and generosity 

Would you like your congregation to be a center that teaches and encourages people to be stewards of God's gifts in their lives? We are offering congregations in our synod the opportunity to participate in the ELCA Macedonia Project.  

 

This 15-month process will begin with an informational meeting on Jan. 24, 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the Minneapolis Area Synod conference room. Pastors and lay team leaders from interested congregations are invited to attend.
