Join the Young Voices for Change video contest!
Young Voices for Change (featured in Nov. issue of FaithLink) are working to break the silence of bullying by starting a video contest. "We're challenging other youth and adults concerned about bullying to submit videos with suggestions on how kids can break the silence around bullying. We're hoping to get the attention of Ellen DeGeneres and ask her to sponsor our contest." Watch their video.

Region 3 ELCA Hunger Retreat, January 25-26, 2013
People in the Saint Paul Area Synod (SPAS) interested in learning more about and becoming involved in helping those who live with hunger are invited to the upcoming Region 3 Hunger Retreat. This annual event at Luther Crest Bible Camp near Alexandria, MN brings together people for worship, community building, sharing, and learning. Partners like ELCA World Hunger, Bread for the World, Lutheran World Relief, and Church World Service will discuss possible hunger actions and involvements. Get it on your new calendar quickly; it's an inspiring event at a minimal cost of $45.00 per person and a good way to begin the New Year.
Ideally the SPAS would have ten people in attendance, preferably a mix of seasoned hunger advocates and those newer to the work. This year there will be a track focused on youth and family involvement, too.
If you are interested, be in touch with Dale/Vernita Kennen at dvkennen@aol.com or Bishop's Assistant Paul Erickson at paul.erickson@elca.org.
