Fighting hunger, one turkey at a time.
A recent article by the Star Tribune reported on the Rev. Rick White's challenge to gather 1,000 turkeys by December 15 at his congregation at Gethsemane, St. Paul. When White saw that the youth at Gethesmane could make 1,000 turkey sandwiches for homeless residents of their community, he felt moved to "issue a challenge" to the whole congregation.

Seminary of the Streets-Saint Paul meets monthly to learn what God is doing in and through the missional communities of the Saint Paul Area Synod, ELCA. Eat, sing, pray, and share stories about meeting God in the margins.

Why Can't My Church be More Like Camp?: The Power of Immersion Learning in Faith Formation

ELCA begins homeless ministry network
Leaders from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and representatives from 14 homeless ministries across the country have officially launched the ELCA homeless ministry network -- a coalition of ministries designed not only as an outreach, but led by people with personal experiences of homelessness and poverty.
