Guatemala Gathering: Celebrating the Iglesia Luterana Agustina de Guatemala (ILAG) Augustana, West St. Paul. Come and hear the latest news from our companion synod partners in Guatemala. Bishop Horacio Castillo and his wife, the Rev. Esther Echeverria, will be the honored guests. The event will include worship, workshops and news from the ILAG.Workshops will include updates on the three-year latrine project, health initiatives, and planning for a trip to Guatemala. Seminary of the Streets: Mission and Ministry in the Hmong Community Nov. 15, 5:00-8:00 p.m.
Grace, St. Paul. Pastor William Siong began to develop Good Samaritan Lutheran Church after serving at Hmong Central in St. Paul for eight years. He felt called to begin what is now the sixth Hmong congregation in the ELCA and, hopes to reach some of the more than 65,000 Hmong residents of the Twin Cities. They now average over 80 worshipers each Sunday, with 18 families from seven different Hmong clans.
