I hear them

   those small

   urgent voices.

You sent them Lord

   To warn me.

I know they were truthful

          concerned,

          divine,

   but I did not obey,

   time went on.

My way seemed perfect,

          true,

          imperishable.

Then come the doubts.

I know I had to change

   you know that,

   and with fatherly

          concern,

          courage,

          love,

   you corrected my path

   and it hurt

   but you only wanted to

   protect

          save

          me.

The pain was my fault, Lord

Foster Care Month

MAY

National Foster Care Month

mother-son-hug.jpg

May is National Foster Care Month.  This is an opportunity for us to recognize all of the wonderful foster parents who open their homes and hearts to children whose families are in crisis.  Many foster families adopt the children in their homes when family reunification is not possible, therefore offering permanency and stability for these children.  Foster parents leave their mark on future generations, helping to end cycles of neglect and abuse.  The need for loving homes continues to grow.

Our foster care offices serving Volusia & Flagler Counties, Seminole, Orange & Osceola Counties and Hillsborough County are reaching out into the community to increase the number of foster families that are desperately needed to take care of children and youth in need.  The staff at these locations are prepared and willing to come to your church to present a program or talk to any group in your church about foster care.  For information call:

On April 3, 2014, the Children's Home celebrated the first dedication of a building on our new campus at the Madison Youth Ranch.  We are deeply grateful to the people of Trinity United Methodist Church of Gainesville, Florida for making this a reality.  The Ranch Home will provide housing for the first staff of the Madison Campus and provide space for various meetings and administrative duties.  More exciting things are coming.  Thank you to all the churches, supporters and friends across the Florida Conference that are making the Madison Youth Ranch a reality.
