Quite often a mother's drug abuse can result in a child coming to the Children's Home for care. When Karl's mother was pregnant she was using drugs. As a result Karl suffers from mood disorders including extreme and violent behavior. Today, Karl is with us trying to receive the help that he needs.

As a result of the ministry of the Children's Home and our dedicated foster care program, 17 children were adopted in 2012. We celebrate that these children have found a permanent home. Because you care and support the Children's Home, you have played a part in creating new families. |

Our Chaplain, Rev. Lauren Dancey, shared that our Joyful Noise choir brought Christmas joy to a local nursing home by caroling for the residents. She said that they one of our young ladies brought stuffed animals to hand out to the elderly folks. This gesture produced smiles and tears of joy to many faces. It is a privilege to see the ministry of Jesus Christ take place through our young people.

"In As Much" is the Children's Home childcare center, which opened in 1980. It is one of the pioneer/early childhood daily educational programs in Volusia County and is open to the community for children from 6 weeks to 5 years of age. It is committed to achieving the highest standard of practice and currently holds three accreditations - COA (Council on Accreditation), APPLE (Accredited Professional Preschool Learning Environments), and Gold Seal - the highest recognition from the Florida Department of Children and Families. It also sponsors a summer camp program for school age children in the community and our foster children. |

Goal Giving for 2013 Many times we are asked, "How do you come up with the goal of giving for our church?" It consists of two parts. First, at the Florida Annual Conference each year the delegates vote for the per member goal of giving as part of the Children's Home report. For the past few years we have maintained the goal at $12.00 per member. Second, on the Year End Report your church submits to the Annual Conference, a membership figure is recorded. We receive these membership figures from the conference office and multiply them by $12.00 to get your overall goal of giving for the year. If you have any questions about your church's goal, please feel free to contact us.

Year End Report As soon as the books are closed and all the proper accounting is done, the end of year giving report will be made available on our website. We know that many churches work hard to make sure their goal of giving is met. We deeply appreciate all your efforts on behalf of the Children's Home.
