Alumni quotes...

When asked what is a precious memory from their time at the Children's Home:

"The day I realized I didn't have to be afraid any longer. I was loved by everyone who worked at FUMCH."

"Considering the fact that I was spoiled by all the staff, I would have to say all the recreation trips we took. They never seemed to get old with me."

Current Needs

Would your church or group consider providing Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner for one of our resident homes? To relieve the houseparents of having to prepare a large meal on those holidays, we supply each home with a complete meal with all the trimmings from Publix. The cost to provide a meal for one of our homes is
$100. We have 14 homes across our campus.

Each year we hold a fall festival for the residents of the Children's Home. We are looking for a church within proximity of the campus to provide cupcakes for this event. If your church or group would be willing to make 120 cupcakes and deliver them to the Children's Home on October 31, please contact lynn.bellomy@fumch.org

We are in need of $15 gift cards to Target. This is one of the gifts that we give to each resident on their birthday. With a campus population that is typically over 100 boys and girls, we can average a birthday almost every 3 days.

Please keep us informed if a new LCR is selected, or any of your contact information changes.

Calendar Art

We have a small supply of 2013 calendars left.  If you would like some, please contact Stephen Hartsfield at stephen.hartsfield@fumch.org

Madison Youth Ranch

Groundbreaking

Mad Ground 5

On September 18, 2012, over 250 friends and supporters of the Florida United Methodist Children's Home braved the rain to celebrate the official groundbreaking for the new Madison Youth Ranch. Many people, churches, groups and organizations have played a part to help launch this new endeavor. We hope all of you will join with us as we create a second campus of the Florida United Methodist Children's Home to meet the needs of the children, youth and families that turn to us for help.

If you would like more detailed information about the Madison Youth Ranch, please contact Mark Nelson at mark.nelson@fumch.org

Special Volunteer Opportunity

Tutors Needed

We need tutors to assist students in improving academic achievement by meeting with them on a regular basis.  We are looking for volunteers that can meet with a student twice a week for at least an hour. Ideally, we are looking for people that can make a commitment for the entire school year. The majority of residents are middle and high school students. Volunteers must submit to a background check and screening. For more information contact Lynn Bellomy  lynn.bellomy@fumch.org

2013 LCR Training Events

Please make note of the dates and times of the upcoming LCR training events. Please plan to attend one of these events so that you will receive the latest news about the Children's Home and to meet and fellowship with other Local Church Representatives. If you have any questions, you can contact Stephen Hartsfield. We will update the list as information becomes available.
