CAre Interiors, A Healthcare Success Story
In 2007, Color Art Integrated Interiors in St. Louis, MO, formed a focus group to determine if healthcare was a market for growth at the dealership, and what it would look like to be successful. After 6 months of research and discussion, the answer to that question was a resounding YES! So the work and investment to re-brand into CAre Interiors and design and build a 2,500 sq.ft., dedicated healthcare showroom began.
In the spring of 2008, CAre Interiors hosted an open house in their new showroom, to show off their unique space to their current healthcare clients and the greater A&D community. The space was laid out in vignettes representing realistic clinical applications and, as the only dedicated healthcare showroom in the market, CAre Interiors received a great response from their clients.
To continue to provide the latest products, in 2010 CAre Interiors re-invested in the newest Nurture, Steelcase and Coalesse products for their showroom. They invested heavily in research and insight-based Nurture products, including Empath, Sync, Sonata, Opus, Folio and Pocket, which have been very successful and the conversations stemming from their showroom tours have been invaluable.
They also invested in a clinical demo program. To properly allow for evaluation before purchasing, CAre Interiors dedicated 30 bays in their warehouse to store the products. They built this inventory through incentives from Nurture as well as strong partnerships with many local manufacturers.
Aside from the showroom and the demo program, their last investment involved technology. One of their main healthcare strategies has been to drive standards with their clients. This strategy, and the automated documentation and SHOP sites they have created, take procurement costs out of the process for their clients.
CAre Interiors' goal for their healthcare volume is to be 20% of their overall furniture number, a goal they have exceeded since 2009. Their investments in healthcare over the past several years have paid off, and their future in healthcare is very bright!
