A Great Healthcare Design Event in NYC
As the educational partner for the Center for Health Design, Nurture continues to explore opportunities to engage the A&D community and our customers. Upcoming in 2013 and throughout 2014, Houston, San Francisco, Chicago, Atlanta, Washington DC and Boston are markets selected for networking events, with the goal being to bring regional healthcare design communities together in intimate settings to provide professional connectivity and continuing education. Nurture believes the industry works best when there are meaningful and enduring relationships with one another, and with that, a commitment to connecting, educating and engaging the healthcare design community.
This past week, on a beautiful mid-September evening in New York City, Center for Health Design board members Roz Cama and Robin Guenther welcomed 175 attendees to the Center for Health Design Educational Forum in the New York Nurture/Steelcase Showroom. Guests included firms Ewing Cole, HDR, Perkins+Will, Array Architects, NBBJ, Perkins Eastman, HOK, Freeman White, NXT, Jeffrey Berman Architects, ZGF, EXIT, Cannon Design, BAM and institutions such as New York School of Interior Design, New York-Presbyterian Hospital, NYU Langone Medical Center, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Mt. Sinai Hospital, among others.

The topic for the evening, "Changes to the 2014 Guidelines Part 1 - What You Need to Know ", was presented by Thomas M. Jung, RA, Richard Thomas, AIA, MBA and Ellen Taylor, AIA, MBA, EDAC. The presentations and subsequent discussions resonated as the speakers each took a unique approach to sharing how the guidelines would impact safety, be in compliance, and maximize the value of a project.
Zoe Kron, Principal of EXIT design firm commented: "Thanks for hosting an absolutely lovely event in an even better location and setting." Many other attendees proclaimed the evening to be "very useful" and "insightful", with an overall zeal and enthusiasm for the work of the Center for Health Design.
Nurture's Area Health Care manager in New York, Tracy Nichols, with help from the Center, generated great enthusiasm and turnout for this event. Nurture appreciates the support of the NY team!

Nurture Modular Architectural Product Solutions GPO Pricing Changes
Nurture Modular Architectural Product solutions (Opus, Folio, Sync, Sonata) require construction management and installation processes. Design, project management and installation is best managed directly between our Steelcase dealers and customers. MedAssets and Novation are already structured for drop-ship-only service levels for Nurture Modular Architectural solutions, while Premier and Amerinet include delivered and installed furniture service levels for Nurture Modular Architectural solutions. Effective immediately we have secured service level change amendments with Premier and Amerinet to offer Opus, Folio, Sync and Sonata at drop-ship service levels only. This will allow for better managing of project management and construction process costs by our dealers for modular architectural solutions. Premier's contract structure puts this pricing change into effect with all dealers without signing a participating dealer letter. To access the new drop-ship pricing levels for Nurture modular solutions on the Amerinet GPO, however, dealers will be required to sign a participating dealer letter and email it to quotes@Steelcase.com.
