AT&T Hosts Girls Who Code

Program Graduation, August 14th

On June 29th AT&T welcomed Girls Who Code to Bothell, WA. A summer immersion program that inspires, educates, and equips young women with advanced computing skills, girls from across Washington State are participating in this seven-week intensive program.

Monday through Friday, 9:00AM to 4:00PM high school girls are provided a college semester's worth of computer science curriculum. The program provides classroom education as well as exposure to the world of computer science, with field trips to places like the AT&T Mobility Labs and Data Center as well as to major companies in the media and technology fields. In addition, participants meet with leaders in public policy and technology such as Congresswomen Suzan DelBene, AT&T Senior Executive Vice President & Global Market Officer Lori Lee as well as AT&T product engineers and its western regional president.  Participants will graduate on Aug. 14 and present their final projects to family, friends and AT&T executives.

"AT&T is making it possible to impact thousands girls," said Girls Who Code Program Manager, Josephine Lee. "With their support we're able to teach girls how to program, design web sites, build mobile apps, robotics and much more. We thank AT&T for giving Girls Who Code not only financial support but the gift of time. Guest speakers and mentors have had a powerful impact on each girl in this program."
