Community News & Announcements: Shout Out!

Shout Out
Angie Durst is just the best. She owns
Abilities Unlimited NW and has taken such good care of my patients who I have referred to her. She found the perfect cushion for my mobility challenged patient who was getting sore hips. She also loaned a cane to a man who need it to walk down the aisle to marry his bride. I cannot thank her enough for her customer service and expertise for the mobility challenged.
We highly recommend her.

Bothell StartUp Weekend
May 15 - 17

6:00 PM

UW Bothell, Discovery Hall

Bothell StartUp Weekend is the first Startup Weekend completely focused on health and related verticals in the state of Washington. All Startup Weekend events follow the same basic model: anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea.

Teams organically form around the top ideas (by vote) and then it's a 54 hour work frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation. Beginning with Friday night pitches and continuing through brainstorming, business plan development, and basic prototype creation, Startup Weekends culminate in Sunday night demos-- presentations to local business leaders with an opportunity for critical feedback.

You do not need to be a designer, coder or even a seasoned healthcare professional to join, anyone is welcome; the only requirement is curiosity. If you want to put yourself in the shoes of an entrepreneur, register now for the best weekend of your life!

Governor Inslee Signs Florist Misrepresentation Bill

The Bothell Florist strongly advocated for this bill, which passed through both the house and senate and was signed last Wednesday into law by Governor Inslee.  Laurel Stromme-Dede went for the signing and gives a big thank you to Senator McCauliffe as well the Greater Bothell Chamber and everyone else that helped get this into law.

Engrossed house bill 1422 concerning misrepresentation of a floral product business's geographic location and advertising requirements for floral product businesses.  Basically it makes it illegal to falsely misrepresent the geographical location of a floral business.
