Community Shout Out!
Submitted by Ryan Lilly with the Institute of Qigong and Integrative Medicine

community shout out
Due to my inherently poor planning skills and the standard male's ability to multitask, I was a bit overwhelmed with all that it takes to pull of a wedding and merge the lives of two people. I pondered over how I was going to accomplish everything in a way that was consistent with my values and involved good people! So I decided to open up the chamber directory and use as many Chamber members as I could in preparation for the wedding and the married life.

It started with the first big adult decision of getting car and renters insurance from our local State Farm agent, Nancy Pipinich and her son Jake! Jake spent endless hours explaining the ins and outs of both car and rental insurance until we had no other choice but to purchase a wonderful package on our car and newly acquired apartment.

Next, over about a 2 month period, I continually bothered Paul at Paul Richards and his wonderful staff as they helped dress me with the perfect outfit for the wedding... In turn I ended up with the coolest shirt anyone could ask for and had it tailored to fit just right! Check out those cuffs!!! Heeeeellllloooooo.... where else in Seattle could you find such a shirt besides at Paul Richards!

The list goes on and on:
- Paul from Woodlawn Optical fixed up my glasses and made sure they were looking great for all the festivities.

- My wife and I opened up our first joint bank account with the one and only Banner Bank!!!!! What a great staff and a great place to be a part of!

- I had my hair cut for the big day at the wonderful Maxx Salon and Spa!

- To get the smile looking just right, I squeezed a few last minute appointments in at Health Point for dental cleaning! And why not make sure i'm in tip top shape by adding a physical exam to the list!

- Alexa's Cafe has continued to keep me awake and motivated with a nice cup of coffee as I planned and planned and planned.............. and planned (I would have had them cater but the wedding was in Montana).

... and the list goes on! The community provided so many things to support us with the wedding and embarking on the married life! I truly appreciate the wonderful community we have in Bothell and am very excited for the many years to come!
