Lake Sediments Safe in Kenmore Area; Public Meeting Set on Recent Studies

Final reports on lake sediments and water quality show that public areas along Lake Washington's northern tip are safe for swimming and other in-water recreation.  The City of Kenmore and Washington State Department of Ecology have set a public meeting for July 11, 2013 to present these findings and answer questions about them. The meeting will take place in Kenmore City Hall. It will begin with an informal open house from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. Officials and experts from the City, Ecology, the Washington State Department of Health and other agencies will be available to answer questions. A presentation and question-and-answer session will take place from 7:00 to 8:30 PM.

WhatsSup Stand Up Paddle and Kayak Expand to Log Boom!

Kayak rentals in Bothell can be found at The Park at Bothell Landing. WhatsSup Stand Up Paddle and Kayak provides great family fun not only with Kayak rentals but also Canoes, Stand Up Paddle Boards and Beach Cruisers! WhatsSup is excited to say we have expanded to Log Boom Park in Kenmore opening mid June! We will be set up south of the playground at the beach, until the public float system is installed at the pier.

The Kayak rentals are "sit on tops" and are easy to get in and out of. WhatsSup has singles, doubles and 2 1/2 man (tandem), great for a family. Canoes available for the experienced canoer.

Standup Paddle Board Rentals bring fun to all. A new growing sport allows you to stand on water. For the land lovers WhatsSup also has Beach Cruisers a fun way to experience the Burke Gilman Trail.

These activities bring together the Bothell & Kenmore communities and have made the Sammamish River come alive!
