Community News & Announcements: Shout Out!
"I would like to do a SHOUT OUT to Art Johnson, New World Communications. Art helped create a wonderful video the district submitted for the Washington Association of School Administrators 2013 Community Recognition Awards. Art was great to work with and met our short deadline.
Submitted by Karen Orsinger, Northshore School District
"A big SHOUT OUT and sincere THANK YOU to Teresa Howard and team at the Courtyard Hall at Bothell Country Village. Teresa is prompt and professional with return calls and information which helped us navigate and orchestrate our set up for the Luncheon. Teresa was very accommodating and happily met our requests. The banquet room was ready and prepared for us to set up, "decorate" and add our own touches as a business sponsor for the May 8th Bothell Chamber Luncheon. We at LZL Construction thank you and we recommend without hesitation the Courtyard Hall at Country Village for events... A good value and helpful team there." A Special Reminder to Parents Hosting Graduation Parties Article Submitted by: Lisa Hammel, Williams & Williams PSC
Parents: Don't Allow Underage Drinking at Your Home!
It's that time of year again --- Graduation Time! Unfortunately, graduation parties often include underage drinking --- which can, in turn, produce tragic events. The newspapers are littered with such stories this time of year --- DUIs involving high school seniors that result in injuries or death.
Parents, resist the temptation of being the "cool parent" by furnishing alcohol to your high school grad's party guests --- or by turning a "blind eye" to underage drinking (or smoking marijuana) at your home. If you serve alcohol to minors, or allow minors to drink at your home, you could be the subject of criminal prosecution.
