Animals & the Lava Flow!!!!
|
Go to www.HelpPuna.org.
It's like a Craigslist where people needing homes for their animals due to the lava flow can find others who have space. People can also offer services for moving animals.
It's free to post an ad. But people can charge for their space or services. All plans and financial dealings are between the parties. We are just offering a free venue where people in need can meet people with the solution.
And please help spread the word with friends, neighbors, and on social media.
Thank you for HELPing Puna. -- Syd

Rescheduled for Saturday September 20th: 1pm-4pm at Hawaiian Sanctuary
Puna, now is the time to take the Next Step.
Join us for the most important permaculture collaboration our district has seen, as we explore, together, how to create modern ahupuaʻa, and share the abundant knowledge we have in Puna. This initiative involves all of the key leaders in permaculture and sustainability in Puna: it is co-stewarded by Kalani and Hawaiian Sanctuary, and actively supported by Laʻakea, the Keliihoomalu ʻOhana in Kalapana, many of Puna's local permaculturists, and financially supported by the County of Hawaiʻi through the stewardship of Greggor Ilagan. The collaboration to put this initiative together is unprecedented. On Saturday, September 20th, the kickoff will feature a dynamic talk story with Hunter Heaivilin, who will lay down the framework for the Modern Ahupuhaʻa. Enjoy networking with other permaculturalists over pupus, bean-to-bar hand made chocolates, and a closing potluck, celebrating the abundance of Puna. Come to this event with your ideas to share on what the Modern Ahupuhaʻa means to you. The goal of the Modern Ahupuaʻa Permaculture Series is to gather knowledge, practices and social strategies to remember and share our best resources. It is time for Puna to collaborate and build this "Next Step" together. Save the third Saturday of each month for this valuable time together, as we learn and grow our modern ahupuaʻa, together.Community Arts Programming is one of the most significant contributions Kalani makes to our local community.
Speaker Bio: Hunter Heaivilin holds a degrees in Tropical Forest Ecosystem and Agroforestry Management, and Sustainable Community Development. He has worked and taught on projects throughout Hawaii, the Caribbean, Southeast Asia, and South America.
Hunter is lead designer at his consultancy firm Pono Permaculture and the coordinator of the Oahu Farm to School Network. He is currently completing his Masters of Urban and Regional Planning at the University ofHawaiʻi with a research focus on policy levers to support urban agricultural programming in Honolulu,Hawaiʻi.
