Jonah: A Graphic Novel - Using visual arts to impact a learner
USY is so excited to support the talented work of USY Alum and former USY on Wheels Staff, Dov Smiley. Dov is a graphic artist who has created a graphic novel on the Book of Jonah. To view sample pages or to order copies click on the image below. *Note: a Teacher's Guide will be available end of July and will be free of charge with each order. This graphic novel is most suitable for Middle School and Teen populations. Questions are included in the end of the novel. The text is the biblical text of the Book of Jonah. Torah Study in Song and Music: Jubilation Musical Society

There are a number of new and creative program opportunities to enagge your community of learners with Jewish life and living. Here is one of them!

If you are planning your holiday programming now, consider the creative and interactive musical presentations of the  The Jubilation Musical Society! JMS offers original musicals and songs for children and adults (the adult shows are appropriate for teens).
To help cover costs, you may want to consider this as a partnership opportunity with other synagogues or Jewish community organizations.

See sample songs and videos via the website link above.

Three options for your Kehillah:
  • Full performances by the Jubilation cast
  • Stage it Yourself scripts with guidance from JMS - excellent for congregational schools and holidays such as Purim and Channukah. *An excellent option for teens to work with younger students in a leadership capacity
  •  Residency- a member of the JMS crew comes to your Kehillah as an Artist-in-Residence and works with your school or community of all ages to put together a fun filled musical performance. *An opportunity for teens involved in theatre and drama to take a more active role in a holiday program.
